Ingredients:
- 2 oz vodka (or bourbon for a Peach Kentucky Mule)
- 4 oz ginger beer
- 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
- 1 fresh peach, pitted and sliced
- Mint leaves (optional)
- Lime wedge for garnish
- Peach slice for garnish
- Ice
Instructions:
- Prepare the Peach Purée:
- In a blender, purée half of the peach slices until smooth. If the peaches are very ripe, you can mash them with a fork or muddle them in the shaker.
- Muddle the Mint (Optional):
- If using mint, place a few mint leaves in the bottom of a shaker and gently muddle to release the oils.
- Mix the Drink:
- Fill a shaker with ice.
- Add the vodka (or bourbon), fresh lime juice, and peach purée (or muddled peach).
- Shake well to combine.
- Assemble the Mule:
- Fill a copper mug or highball glass with ice.
- Strain the contents of the shaker into the mug.
- Top with ginger beer and stir gently.
- Garnish and Serve:
- Garnish with a lime wedge, a slice of fresh peach, and a sprig of mint if desired.
