Fresh Hummus – You and your family will love!

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • ¼ cup fresh lemon juice (about 1 lemon)
  • ¼ cup tahini
  • 1 small garlic clove, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil, plus more for serving
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 2-3 tbsp cold water (as needed for consistency)
  • Paprika and chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Blend tahini and lemon juice – In a food processor, blend tahini and lemon juice for about 1 minute until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add garlic, olive oil, cumin, and salt – Blend again for 30 seconds.
  3. Add chickpeas – Add half of the chickpeas and blend for 1 minute. Scrape down the sides, add the remaining chickpeas, and blend again.
  4. Adjust texture – While blending, slowly add 2-3 tbsp cold water until you reach your desired consistency.
  5. Serve – Transfer to a bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with paprika and parsley.

Optional Variations:

  • Roasted Garlic Hummus – Roast a whole garlic bulb and blend in for extra flavor.
  • Spicy Hummus – Add ½ tsp cayenne or a chopped jalapeño.
  • Herb Hummus – Blend in fresh basil, cilantro, or dill.
