Ingredients:
- 4 cups Rice Chex cereal
- 4 cups Wheat Chex cereal
- 2 cups rye chips (you can find these in the snack aisle, or use a bag of garlic rye chips)
- 1 cup pretzels (optional)
- 1 cup mixed nuts (optional)
- 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional, for extra flavor)
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven to 250°F (120°C).
- Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the Rice Chex, Wheat Chex, rye chips, pretzels, and nuts (if using). Stir to combine.
- Prepare the Seasoning: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and smoked paprika until well blended.
- Coat the Mix: Pour the seasoning mixture over the cereal mixture. Gently stir to evenly coat all the pieces.
- Bake the Chex Mix: Spread the mixture on a large baking sheet in an even layer. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes for even toasting and flavor.
- Cool and Store: Allow the Chex Mix to cool completely on the baking sheet before serving.
- Storage: Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
